On Mother's Day, my mom, sister-in-law and I went to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
It's about an hour from our house, and I try to go at least once or twice a year. Each season brings something new.
I've been to Longwood Gardens in the spring before, but I don't remember seeing such a stunning display of tulips. Everything was perfect, from the height of each variety to the swaths of color to the width of the grassy aisles between beds.
The thought that must go into planning such a flower display boggles my mind. I can't even keep my own little bed of tulips alive. But after seeing how beautiful these looked, I'm determined to plant some bulbs this fall.
My son was being clingy and shy most of the trip, but I have a feeling he'll enjoy the children's garden when he gets a little bit older. So I see more trips to Longwood Gardens in our future.
